With the spring thaw underway potholes are creeping up everywhere!
More than just annoying, potholes can potentially do costly damage to your vehicle.
Here are 4 tips to help avoid damaging your vehicle:
- Keep your eyes on the road at all times. Note the movements of the vehicles in front of you. If they quickly swerve, they may be avoiding a pothole and you should prepare to do the same.
- Don't break hard over a pothole, you'll only increase the likelihood of damage.
- Leave some space between your vehicle and the one in front of you. Bone rattling potholes can sneak up fast and you'll need a few moments to see them to move out of the way.
- Slow your speed and leave a little earlier than normal to better see and avoid hitting a pothole.
Weather permitting, road crews will be repairing potholes, so remember to be courteous and slow down when you see pothole repairs being done. Drive safe!
