Some parents of school-aged children describe this as ‘the most wonderful time of the year’. The kids are back in school, and our often over-scheduled lives return to normal.
It is also the time of year to drive with more caution and patience. Be aware of school buses, crosswalks and the rules of the road in general.
As you approach a school crossing this fall with a crossing guard, remember, it's now the law that drivers will have to wait until the pedestrians cross the road entirely before proceeding into the intersection. This law also applied to pedestrian activated crossovers identified with amber flashing lights and an overhead ‘X’ sign.
Best of luck to all those returning to school this year. Please drive safe Windsor - Essex!
