Are You Entitled to COVID-Related Auto Insurance Relief?
As the pandemic continues across Canada and the world, many of our auto insurance partners have extended and updated their COVID-related relief programs.

Do you qualify?

Depending on your insurer, you may qualify for a reduction in your premium if your driving habits have changed significantly, you are going out only for essential purposes, suffered a job loss, are working from home or are self-isolating.

Important to know:

1. These relief programs are not industry-wide, rather individual insurers have their own programs.
2. Some of these benefits are applied automatically, while other discounts are determined on a case-by-case basis.
3. Now is the best time to learn and take action on the potential for savings offered by your auto insurance company, as the benefits will not be retroactive.

Additionally, some Canadian insurers are: 

  • Deferring payments without penalty or additional fees
  • Offering flexible payment schedules 
  • Freezing premiums which are due for renewal 
  • Waiving non-sufficient funds fees 
  • Allowing personal vehicles to be driven for delivery purposes (with the exclusion of those utilizing 3rd party apps)
