The theme for 2020 is "expect the unexpected" - and this holds true for Halloween. Certainly it will be different than ones past, but likely there will be a lot of little ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating for Halloween - excited by their costumes and the prospect of sugar.
It's our responsibility to make sure the kids stay safe while on the streets and sidewalks this Halloween.
- While trick or treaters or out, drive below the speed limit and allow yourself extra time to get where you need to be.
- Be extra aware of your surroundings.
- Excited kids can run out between parked cars, across driveways and intersections.
- Yield to pedestrians and let other drivers know by using your four-way flashing lights.
And if you're celebrating (within your social circle, of course), be sure you plan on a safe way home.
Have a great Halloween and be safe!
